In 1988, a new staff created the Japanese Language Village Mori no Ike. Over nearly 20 years, Mori no Ike has grown. We now welcome over 600 villagers and 100 staff each summer. Thanks to the innovation, passion and enthusiasm of the sensei, we are the premiere Japanese language and culture immersion program for youth in the country.

Sensei Torii
The sensei torii will be the first structure at the site. It honors the first 20 years and welcomes the future. We aim to raise the torii in August 2008. This event will correspond with a staff and villager reunion in Bemidji. We hope to see you there.
